I picked up 2 huge pots of raw sienna acrylic paint 500ml each) at Hobbycrafts sale yesterday. Should do for the base colour for the terrain for Montaperti? (If the rest of you aren't going to do the terrain for this year's Battle Day please let me know soon, so I can assess my options to do this as a solo project.)

What size table were you thinking of. If the bases are 15mm bases, maybe 6*4 ?

Probably plenty. To a certain extent we can fit the number of units to the table size.

adam, we have been waiting to do the scenery for the battle day since about october last year, but nothing definate was ever really discussed until you put the above map on here and then the subject just got dropped i guess. i can get the materials we need for the base (wire mesh and paper machet and i have herculite to harden the surface (bought ten kilo's recently.).) boards. and me les and del can be industrious in the shed until completion.

Are we going to do this ? I have two full available weekends between now and the game day and we haven't got any materials yet. Unless we are going to rely on Jim and Del (?) to do the majority of the work, I don't think we are going to make it. Decision time !!!!!!

I take your comments on board (both of you) and I have been giving it some thought. I don't really see a huge amount of enthusiasm for this period and even Nick (whose idea the Stratego style markers was) does not seem keen to put a lot of effort into this project. It may well make more sense to use our hobby time to forward the games that we do have a real interest in, whether that is time to make some great terrain, paint more figures or just play extra games. So my reluctant conclusion is that we abandoon the Battle Day for this year unless someone can give a compelling argument to do it.

you are right that this is an uninspiring battle -SOA are trying to come up with new ideas & are too keen to not repeat themselves. In fact new rulesets have become available since this started & deserve investigation.
