Les: I had a quick look through my books but I cannot spot any representations of Prussian Cuirassiers with their breastplate under their coat. I suspect the Prussian style of coat wopuldn't have enough room as they were a skimpy cut. The French seem to have worn their cuirass over or under (when they could be bothered at all!) Maybe the cut of their uniform being a bit old fashioned allowed the choice; everyone else was busy imitating the Prussians. Some French cavalry even discarded their coats so as to look more Prussian, apparently:
