I have two units of Hypaspists being based up now and another half painted. That will do it for them. I will do another two units of pikes to complete this Taxeis(sp?) Before those I will do a unit ofCompanions and an Alexander general. Indian cavalry and elephant escorts also have priority (still need to buy the cavalry figures.)

The Essex ones are nice or the 1st Corps ones I have. Elephants are nearly ready for painting, final filling to be done this week. Would have been done this week but I had a bug, think it was yours from Derby !

As we are now definitely on the run in to the Battle Day, I thought I would track the remaining figure painting that I need to complete. It will ramp up the pressure or reduce me to panicked apathy... 12 Companions: riders painted, horses undercoated 16 Indian cavalry: riders fleshtones painted, horses undercoated. 12 Elephant escorts: fleshtones painted. 8 Agrianians: prepped ready for undercoating. Statue bearers: prepped ready for undercoating Alexander: prepped ready for undercoating There, easy. Aaarrrrrrghhhhh!

I was thinking of printing out a bunch of this sort of pattern to be quick banners for my indians: Shall I print out some extras for you? (Don't know what they'll come out like at such small sizes...)

Why not, we can see what they look like at that scale, been looking for something like that for a while. Elephants - nearly done - do they need 'decorating' with murals ? Chariots - part assembled Runners - just started Cavalry - to be started. Lets see how far I get

Righto. I also have a page of symbols from mauryan coins that I might print onto a sheet of transfers. That way I can just paint all indian shields plain and bosh a black decal on top...

Printed out some of those banners; I'll try one out to see how they look. Watch this space. Have finished the basic paint on the elephant escorts, just details to do. I was thinking of doing matching head-wraps and belts but mixed up within a unit?

So I don't need to do anything ? Fantastic ! Do you know anywhere (Julie probably does) you can get really tiny bells ? The Phlumps don't have any and I was thinking of using thin ribbon or those banners to hang a couple like all the illustrations show by there knecks. Might even see what the banners look like draped over the covers (when I get them). Did you get Richards mail about table size ? Looks like it's just us, so what time and do we need food, was thinking Picnic set with china etc (Got to keep up the standards), possibly Greek salad or similar ?

No. The request was sent by e-mail anyway, not on the forum. It's going to be an early start, about 6.30ish. Any food preferences (apart from the obvious Gluten/Lactose issues), Greek Salad plus chicken/scotch egg is simple and nutritious.

Jim, home number is 01375 379612 might be better to try that instead of the mobile. Should be in about 5ish, if it rings out, start talking and I'll pick up, don't like telling PPIers to p*** off that often.
