Cannot for the life of me remember how to paint 15s. Seem too fiddly by half. I think I will try the gluing them to lolly sticks approach...

They are teeny, tiny aren't they ? I had the reverse when I went back to 25/28's, absolutely stunned at the vast acreage of metal to paint.

Started to base the buggers up, 40*20 ? Hope so as I've about 20,000 bases. Got 264 of them plus the 24 that you donated several years ago. I make that about 18 PK units.

How about we just fight the interesting half of the battlefield (with all the cavalry...)? I think that was where the decision was brought about.

It was. We could do that. Can't remember the exact numbers but I think Ceasar was seriously outnumbered and one of the legions helped out. Take it the painting's not gone well ? I'll carry on basing, check my books for numbers/types (think it was German/Celt type stuff) and get back to you. As you've bought the figures, you might as well carry on painting them. Was thinking of inviting people round over Xmas with possibility of gaming ? Are we having a game before Xmas ? Have you heard from Nick, been nothing heading this way, do you think he's OK ?

Had a look and it is as follows - Ceasar - 1000 cavalry (I assume Celtic types) \+ one legion + one cohorte from each of the other legions present (approx another legion), taken from the third rank. Pompey - 7000 cavalry, mostly newly raised so I'd assume some kind of eastern cavalry + supporting light infantry No mention of armour or bows so most likely javelin armed 'medium' cavalry types - closed to combat rather than skirmish from what I can work out, mght be a mix of course. Depending on the men to unit ratio could probably do with existing figures. Should we be worried about Nick ?
