world war two using wrg 27th november was mooted as the date.

probaly a couple of companies of infantry aside and a few afv's with some artillery. as a try out foretaste of the larger battle (brigade or larger sized) and to see how wrg rules work to our satisfaction (i know the rest of you have played a little with them.)

As there is some doubt about the shed being ready for this game are there any suggestions for alternative games or venues?

its just the venue that will not be ready, the playing area could be quite small as we'll not have much beyond a couple of companies of inf either side.

remember this is a rules run through, so we can get a set which we're all comfortable with for the larger battle at a later date.

off topic i know, but does salute charge for a gaming table?

don`t believe that clubs putting on a game are charged at most shows but it is difficult to get a place at the larger/more popular shows, especially if you have no track record for producing a good display.

Frothers Unite UK don't seem to have any problem getting tables (2 or 3 sometimes) and they are utterly disorganised and have no track record of producing display games elsewhere... Wouldn't want to start at a show that big personally, somewhere a little smaller for a test game would be my preference.

They put on a game at Salute 4 years ago and that was their first ever demo/participation game. Since then they (/we)  have had no problem getting up to 3 tables at Salute.

I am still available for end of November but cannot free up space at my house. As I will be losing the web in about a week I need to know if Les is hosting (or Jims shed is finished).

I hope to maintain occasional web acces until broadband is reconnected.

Nick, I will give you a shout on your tel. no. if a game gets organised. (Unless your phone will be out of order too?)

So as far as planning goes, a Successor battle at Les' place on 27th. Indian takeaway so maybe eastern end of the Selucid Empire?
