Macedonian pikemen coming soon for those who don't have skads of the little blighters already.

More importantly the ex-mmortal metal figures are now available again.

No I don't think Jim is particularly into 28mm figures. Nick would be the obvious one as he loves plastic miniatures so much.

On the subject I have finished one unit of plassy hoplites. The shield transfers are nice. I have nothing else to say on the matter... :|  Halfway through 2 more units (all metal) and cleaning up 2 more (metal and Spartans.) I will only go back to the plastic figures if I reaaally need them. Photos soon.

You could always volunteer Jim, be good practise for you.  It will remind you of when you were a small child and having to stick the little fiddly bits of plastic kits together, learn how to paint real figures and would be of help to the rest of us. ;)

Has anyone heard from Nick ?

Nick where are you ?

All thats needed is practice, you have a bit of time, you only need an hour or so a day, and you'll soon get the hang of it and get better, most of it is working out a system rather than trying to paint better, get a system that works - dry brush, washes whatever works for you.  Practice, practice, practice.:D

Dry brushing: that's when I get distracted, wander off and the paint dries on the brush, isn't it?
