I'm a retired 67 year old married bloke who loves England, rugby, real ale, steak and cheese who's been on the periphry of wargaming since the 70's. I live in Stanway, Colchester.
Unfortunately, because I paint with all the speed of a geriatric snail with severe arthritis and I have the attention span of a juvenile gnat, I have not completed many wargaming/painting projects and only have one DBA army (Carolingian/Ottonian) that I've actually painted + three other forces (Prussian circa 1870, Magyar DBA, early Byzantine FoG but based for Comitatus) available for gaming.
All my completed armies are 15mm ~ a size I love, I can paint them reasonably well and I think they look great on the table. Having said that my current project is (1) Kallistra 12mm American Civil War (these are cracking little models which why I succumbed to temptation!) and (2) 25/28mm Old Glory early Saxons. I'm painting these for the Too Fat Lardies rules 'Dux Britanniarum'.
I'm interested in all periods of military history but particularly in the Germanic invasions of the British Isles (the so called 'Arthurian' period) and the War of the Spanish Succession. I'm also fascinated by Genghis Khan and the Mongols and have a passing interest in naval wargaming, especially the Anglo-Dutch Wars.
